Flume is Australia’s best kept secret. Well... at least best kept from us Americans. He has exploded onto the scene in his home country, reaching number one on the ARIA charts with his self-titled and certified platinum debut album. The 21-year-old beatmaker is also making quite the name for himself among his industry peers, counting Skrillex, Boys Noize, and Steve Aoki among his fans.
These British R&B artists are absolutely killing it these past couple of months. Recently posting another British R&B/percussion electronic track this morning, I am graced with the latest release from duo AlunaGeorge entitled Bad Idea. Taken from their debut album 'Body Music' out July 29, this up-tempo R&B track features a groovy bass line accompanied by sensational and orgasmic vocals. With the rise of Aluna Francis and George Reid in early 2013 with the release of their LP, they are truly banking on the success of their new album by featuring signature sounds that the UK will love. Don't be surprised to see this album make wave here in the US, similar to that of Disclosure, and be on the lookout for this incredible duo as they rise to musical heights in the second half of '13.
So as a start to the summer season we headed on over to FOUND Festival in London. Due to FOUND being one of the few remaining underground festivals running in the UK after the electronic music scene has slowly commercialised, there is a special kind of energy there that is exclusive to the festival. Despite the rain pouring down towards the beginning of the day, the dancing continued until Lee Foss B2B with MK dropped Shadow Child's remix of Reverse Skydiving, giving the sun an excuse to flood onto the festival ground where it remained for the rest of the day. We were lucky enough to grab some backstage passes and we spent the day talking to the artists as they came off stage, snapping pictures of you guys and just generally enjoying that festival madness.
