If you're down for a night of funky vibes and an oscillation of electric beats, be at Verboten this Friday, June 20. Gracing Brooklyn's new nightclub is Maya Jane Coles and George Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald is Berlin's own electronic musical genius. He offers us an impressive blend of House, Garage, and Techno. His thrilling production talents landed him as one of BBC Radio 1's Future Stars of 2013. And his recent BBC Radio 1 Residency, kicked off with massive mixes, demonstrated his outrageous, melodic repertoire. We can't wait for him to drop fan favorites like I Can Tell (By The Way You Move) and Thinking of You, the crowd won't be able to stand still!
Headlining Friday night will be Maya Jane Coles, a London based producer known for her uplifting tempos and use of smooth vocals; sure to loosen the crowd up as the night progresses. We first took note of this artist's unique style during her 2013 BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, when she proved to us to be the hailing queen of London House and Techno. Her latest album, released back in April, titled Fabric 75, showed us a more minimal side to her singer-songwriter style.
Also spinning will be Alex Arnout (One Records); his bouncy, dance-inducing style will close the night out on a pleasant, tech heavy note.
This provocative lineup is bound to quench our thirst for house and techno, not to mention the event is at one of our favorite clubs. (Check out our first review of Verboten here). Grab tickets fast, you don't want to miss this!
