Daily Beat Staff

Less than a week remains until the first edition of Splash House begins for the 2017 season. With parties in both June and August, there is little to no reason why you should not check out at least one weekend of fun in the Palm Desert. Whether you're already going or thinking of making that crucial last second decision, allow us a moment to sway your interests towards these 5 performers who are guaranteed to fulfill your needs.

5. Cassian

Hailing from Australia, Cassian brings a unique style to the deep house genre. Combining driving piano rhythms with vocals and funky bass lines, his music surely stands out from the rest. Needless to say, he gets rather deep. His set is from 4-5 at The Saguaro on Saturday. Don't forget to add him to your schedule!

4. Joe Kay

Co-founder and radio host for the music collective of the future, Soulection, Joe Kay has helped create the platform for many artists to bring their beats to the masses. His set is surely to be filled with smooth, silky, hip hop that will hit the spot just right in the summer sun.

3. Kidnap Kid

Boasting over 3 million followers on his SoundCloud, Kidnap Kid has been on the forefront of the dark melodic deep house sound. We recently caught up with him at the BPM Festival regarding the anniversary of his label 'Birds That Fly,' and he had quite a lot to say. Check out the interview here, and his set from 6-7 at The Saguaro on Saturday.

2. Moon Boots

51

Bringing some disco house vibes to the desert, Moon Boots has already had quite a substantial year. His recent release on Anjunadeep 'The Life Aquatic' just received the remix treatment, which you can listen to here. If you're looking for some feel good jams to end your weekend, his set is from 5-6 on the 11th at The Saguaro.

1. Hot Chip

Hot-Chip-1

Although we will not be graced with a live set from the legendary electronic band, Hot Chip's DJ set is still surely to be a hit. From what we've seen before, they generally blend in old school disco with super dance-y style beats. They are playing Sunday night at The Renaissance just before Bonobo's closing set from 7-8.

Take a look at the set times if you haven't already and plan your weekend accordingly. We'll see you in the desert!
