Wayward EP - TastyTreat

John Smith and Devin Hardy, collectively known as Los Angeles-based duo, TastyTreat, have developed a reputation for making feel-good tracks. “Their music will make you want to cuddle the living hell out of the biggest and fluffiest teddy bear around,” describes their Facebook bio. Unexpectedly, the two completely abandoned their established style and proved their artistic range on their Buygore debut EP released yesterday, Wayward.

Listeners will find little sense of cuddling or teddy-bears, anywhere on the project. TastyTreat delivers hyper-aggressive, 808-reliant beats from start to finish, effortlessly accentuating the verses of featured lyricist Malcolm Anthony, of San Franciso's K Theory, on My Crew, and aspiring rappers Gino Diggs & YTLI on Struggle.

The project ends with the ironic declaration, “I know you feel yourself becoming irrelevant.” In a industry saturated in similar productions, TastyTreat has announced in Wayward, their commitment to maintaining the momentum gathered in their peppy-past, through diversified style and range.
