There was a short period of my life, about two years back, during which I was a janitor for my old middle school. It was generally a pretty unrewarding/-forgiving job, and I had to scrub the excrement out of a couple of my former teachers' personal toilets. Associating unique fecal specimens with familiar faces is never a pleasant task. This was not welcome knowledge. For those of you who can empathize: know that we share a rare and immutable bond.
Anyway, two of the only benefits of being a janitor are 1) everybody leaves you the fuck alone because they assume (correctly) that you have recently come in contact with some sort of noxious material from some sort of totally unpleasant cavity (human or otherwise), and 2) you get to wear headphones all day, which means you get to (read: must) blast music to drown out your existential despair.
"La La Swim" by Slow Loris was one of those songs I blasted that not only distracted me from my depressive state, but actually kind of reversed it, for a time. It's a real shame that this track has been around since 2010 and the YouTube vid has less than 6,000 views. Change that for me. I might not have made it through that awful summer w/o this one.
