StéLouse - Joyride

April 28, 2014 -

Hill Coulson

Brace yourself for this Monday evening gem coming from Denver-based producer StéLouse via Australia's Die High Records. Aptly titled "Joyride", the song clocks in just under five minutes packed full of genre-bending progressions. Rapid fire cymbals and snares tip off trap fans early in the mix joined by the signature bedsprings of Jersey Club. The real treat comes at 0:43 when a plucked string line leads an exhilarating chorus of synth stabs and experimental percussive elements. From here on out, "Joyride" segues through a series of drops – each one building off the last and changing the genre with every new movement. This is one of those songs that is instantly appealing, yet the more you listen the more nuances you discover. Enjoy the ride.
