Fans of TNGNT (HudMo & Lunice) and Baauer will find Glasgow producer Rustie's new double-A side EP on Scottish record label Numbers both new and creative without losing the sound and energy that brought Rustie into the spotlight as an up and coming electronic producer. "Slasherr", released just over two weeks ago, starts off with a crisp snare rhythm held together by a wonky synth pattern culminating in an intense trap-style beat that takes you through the rest of the tune. "Triadzz", released within the past day or so, compliments "Slasherr" nicely and reminds me of certain tracks on his 2011 LP "Glass Swords". "Triadzz" combines a heavier synth sound with regularly placed drum rolls, dropping into a more minimal but still powerful and fast-paced future hip-hop beat, still in tune with a trap-style composition we're used to seeing from artists like Rustie. Out on iTunes, Soundcloud, and limited vinyl release, "Slasherr/Triadzz" will not disappoint and hopefully we'll hear more from Rustie in the coming months.
