The City of Angeles was once again home to another HARD event in the summer. This past weekend, the Los Angeles State Historic Park in Downtown LA was home to the two-day HARD Summer festival. With four carefully programmed stages, the festival was able to showcase some of the hottest acts in dance music all at once. While Daily Beat wasn't there to take in any of the action, we are happy to have one of our favorite upcoming DJ/producers' live set online. Duke Dumont, the British producer who broke out with his single Need U (100%) feat. A*M*E, graced the Los Angeles stage right before Disclosure was about to come on, and boy did he tear it up. Featuring some of the hottest tunes in house, Duke was able to create a dynamic in his set while pleasing the LA crowd. So as a start to the summer season we headed on over to FOUND Festival in London. Due to FOUND being one of the few remaining underground festivals running in the UK after the electronic music scene has slowly commercialised, there is a special kind of energy there that is exclusive to the festival. Despite the rain pouring down towards the beginning of the day, the dancing continued until Lee Foss B2B with MK dropped Shadow Child's remix of Reverse Skydiving, giving the sun an excuse to flood onto the festival ground where it remained for the rest of the day. We were lucky enough to grab some backstage passes and we spent the day talking to the artists as they came off stage, snapping pictures of you guys and just generally enjoying that festival madness. Ever since I watched Skream drop Shadow Child's 23 in his W Hotel Boiler Room Set, I have become obsessed with almost every production of Shadow Child. Beginning life as the experimental side project of Dave Spoon, Shadow Child (aka Simon Neale) has smashed onto the scene in the last 12 months with releases on Dirtybird, Pets and Moda Black. His fresh approach to 4/4 music tastefully treads the line between house and ‘bass’ music, earning him accolades from forerunners [.....]

Now if there's one thing that I can be sure of, its that Dirtybird Records have been very much in control of my life over the last few months. The San Francisco based, tech funk, record company seem to be churning out incredible tune after incredible tune without fail, providing me with almost all the music I need. Before I can continue can I please recommend to any of you who haven't heard any of Dirtybird's releases, to go and do so immediately.
