Cannot get enough of these pre-summer jams. After incredible success with funk-inspired remixes and a mind-blowing rendition of Disclosure's January, […]
House genre-benders Disclosure, set to release an album of remixes of their critically acclaimed LP "Settle," enlist groove master Kaytranada for an official remix of "January." This track oozes vibes and as is expected from Kaytranada, it is full of jumpy drum fills and jazzy basslines. It bears a strong likeness to some of Kaytranada's earlier work, such as his remixes of Janet Jackson and Teedra Moses. Take a listen below and let us know what you think!
So it's Thursday. New York is about to go off with insane Halloween costumes, crazy parties at the Best Buy Theater, Pier 94, Webster Hall and many more, and the only night where it's truly "acceptable" to add the word "slut" before you describe what you are dressed up as for Halloween. With that being said, I know this tune has nothing to do with Halloween. No it's not a crazy monster mash, or another edit to Michael Jackson's Thriller, but rather another insane Kaytranada version to the dance floor ready flip of Common's "I Want You." With the original tune offering up that cool and collective vibe, Kaytranada's version adds that true Disclosure-esque element that complements the house and funk roots. So whether this is that kick-starter track for your evening, or that 3AM song while everyone is chilling on a comfy chair, this tune is for you. Happy Halloween, be safe, and enjoy!
