Netsky (Net-ski) or Netsky (Net-sky)? The vocalist took a vote on who thought which one was the correct pronunciation. He made it very clear that it is pronounced NET-SKY, just like it is spelled! Well, confusion cleared up there! For his first American tour and now with a full band to back him, the Belgium born 24 year old crashed Webster Hall this past Friday and took everyone by surprise! We first heard about him when we saw him on the Camp Bisco 11 line up and have had his songs on our iPods ever since. This show, however, blew us away! We were so shocked at how much we enjoyed it, dancing for hours on end and realizing our true love for drum & bass. His band is what did it for us. Just something about a full band on stage makes the experience like none other. The band included a drummer, a vocalist, and an additional keyboard player. Starting off with his hit “Love Has Gone” proved what these guys are all about: rocking out and making the crowd do the same. “And this one’s for all the true Nestky fans. This one’s called ‘Give and Take.’” Well “Yooooo,” we actually knew this one! From his more mellow tunes like “Get Away From Here” to his rager remix of Rusko’s “Everyday” he had the crowd sway as well as bang their heads. During “Come Alive” a woman, who is actually not the original singer on the track, came out and belted the lyrics. Through the enthusiasm she showcased on stage, we don’t think anyone knew the difference. We were very pleasantly surprised with the outcome of this show and can’t wait to see of they pop up on any of this summer’s festival line-ups.
