Back in 1985, acclaimed Italian electronic music producer Mario Baldoni, aka Miro, was laying the writing foundations for a tune that would amazingly become one of the most interesting releases of 2022. Recorded in 1987 on a 24 tracks tape at Pomodoro Studio, with help from legendary South-African sound engineer Allan Goldberg, co-writer Gregorio Puccio, and vocalists Giulia Fasolino and Silver Pozzoli, “Passion Night” is finally out now, and makes up for a truly authentic blend of synth-pop, italo-disco, and jazz.
Adding his talents to “Passion Night” is Italian jazz contralto saxophone virtuoso Massimo Urbani, with the song being the only strictly non-jazz project in his large catalog. “Passion Night“ is out now via Italo-house label Disco Segreta in the form of an EP, featuring a Smooth Jazz remix by Miro, as well as an additional house remix from guitarist and producer Julyo, who counts collaborations with the likes of Paulo Bragança, Paco de Lucia, Tasos Bougas, Goldie, Take That, and Michael Brecker in his repertoire.
