In just a few days, New York City will play host to the 2015 NYC Porn Film Festival. Designed to bring "the best and most diverse body of work to New York City as a platform for both established and emerging talent," the event will screen various forms of adult entertainment for those in attendance. By doing so, festival founders aim to give the adult film category the credit they believe it deserves as a "significant and socially/culturally relevant art form."
Among the creative videos set to screen during the festival, a project was supposed to be shown featuring Miley Cyrus. According to a USA Today report, Miley's film was was originally set to be showcased alongside projects by the likes of another celebrity known for showing some skin, model and television personality Tila Tequila.
Tequila's submission, titled Tila Tequila: Backdoored & Squirting, is described by Adam and Eve as a "pulse-pounding point-of-view exposé." They go on to reveal that it includes explicit, XXX scenes of her fooling around with her girlfriends, her ex-boyfriend, and herself. Miley's entry on the other hand, was far more tame.
Her BDSM-inspired short video titled Tongue Tied—featured Cyrus donning leather underwear and small pieces of crossed nipple tape to censor her chest. In the video, Cyrus is shown bound with leather straps and playing with whips and different restraints, all while doing various things with her tongue.
The project was initially created to serve as an introduction to Cyrus' performances during her Bangerz tour. However, its BDSM-esque characteristics made it idea; for its own time in the spotlight during the show. Unfortunately for Cyrus fans, the film was recently pulled from the event's schedule.
There hasn't been much explanation for the films original involvement, nor has there been a detailed reason given for its sudden removal. According to Style 's take on the news, Cyrus's rep had this to say:
Miley was proud to make a film with acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Jones. Neither she nor Quentin are participating in this ‘festival’ in any way.
Her decision to remove herself from the event is a surprising one considering Cyrus' flair for shocking audiences and showing off her body. It would seem the adult industry would be the perfect realm for her to flourish. But in any case, the copious amounts of other salacious material is sure to leave festival-goers in awe, even with Cyrus' absence.
The festival kicks off Friday, Feb. 27 and wraps Sunday, March 1. If you're from the area, or your pastimes are on the more adventurous side, it's certainly an event worth checking out. All art enthusiasts 21 and older are welcome.
