The innovative Tampa native, Landis LaPace, was recently called a possible "spitting image of Claude VonStroke" by Thump. LaPace is back with a highly anticipated new EP titled Caffeine and it was released November 13th on Psycho Disco Records. The Atlanta native and disco enthusiast, Treasure Fingers, is the founder of Psycho Disco and claims that the label "skews to the left of house music", which in my eyes means more creativity and innovation...so what's not to love?
Starting off the EP is the title track "Caffeine" which is an energetic house track that'll keep you dancing until your legs give out. The raw edged drums and percussion balance out perfectly with a powerful "in your face" bassline. The deep and dark bass stabs, occasional vinyl scratches and atmospheric background noises are combined with mesmerizing vocals that will give you a never ending rush of energy.
The second track on the EP is titled "Our House" and LaPace brings in some old school acid house vibes with a seductive 303 bassline that would bring a smile to Dj Pierre's face. The 303s lay on top of some heavy low end drums that give you the perfect combination of acid and tech house. To top off the acid trip, he has blessed us with psychedelic vocals that will be stuck in your head for quite some time and there's nothing you can do about it. Label boss, Treasure Fingers, has made some club killing remixes in his time and ends the EP with a juicy remix of "Our House".
