Kaysin has released his first big single on Understated Recordings entitled 'Take Me' - featuring a remix from Understated's resident artist Micah Smith. Los Angeles natives might recognize Understated for being the notorious afters location that throws major underground parties with big name artists. Understated has a huge presence in the local music community and their label is an even bigger step for their brand in an effort to spread their vibe to music lovers outside of LA. We've been huge fans of their releases from artists such as Grensta, 28mm, Thomas Garcia, and a bunch of others, but this latest track from Kaysin might be their biggest release yet.
So far 2019 has been a big year for Nick Sommers, aka Kaysin. After spending the past few years rising in popularity as a DJ, he finally began dropping bombs on labels such as Hood Politics. 'Take Me' adds to his collection a deep tech house jam that is rich in percussion and vocal samples. The bass line is hauntingly dirty and drives what feels like an eclectic mix of synths and drums. The lead vocal sample cuts through all of the chaos and leads the energy into another dimension with each drop.
Micah Smith continues the good vibes on his rendition of 'Take Me'. His remix begins with a swing style jazz beat but slowly buildings into a haunting jam with an atmospheric chord and rounds of delays. When the funky bassline kicks in we are left wondering what's going on but at the same time loving every minute of it. Overall the dark garage feel of this one is powerful and a great addition to an already powerful release by Kaysin and Understated.
