I've been following Joey Bada$$ since his humble beginnings not so long ago. Since then he has shown a great deal of growth as an artist and his following has grown at an even faster rate. He recently took to his Twitter to announce that he would release another mixtape before his debut album, a clear indicator that he and his management see room for more growth and artistic development.
Or so we thought...until a few days ago when he questioned himself and tweeted this:
If you want to catch up with Joey Bada$$ the best way to do that would be to hit up The Pro Era Youtube page, where he first made noise with his video for "Survival Tactics". Joey Bada$$ takes a "back-to-the-basics" approach with his style that is heavily influenced by the great rappers of the 90's. After the recent death of his close friend and fellow Pro Era frontman Capital Steez, Bada$$ appears to be staying strong and motivated for success. Before the release of this track he had said that he intends to stay independent and do things his own way. Bada$$ recently teamed up with DJ Premier and took to "Unorhodox" to let it be known,
"I'mma spark it off unorthodox/ won't sign to no major if no wager less than the 3 million offer off the top / i'll be in a box with my coffee drops / why settle for an office spot."
Here's a pair of my favorites off his debut mixtape, 1999.
By the way, I'm Greg and I'm looking forward to sharing some gems with you. You can keep up with me on Twitter and Tumblr.
