Interview With Coyote Kisses @ Santos Party House

August 14, 2013 -

James Donnelly

Be prepared for some dopeness if you have not heard of Coyote Kisses yet. The other week we were lucky enough to sit down and talk to these two rising stars hailing from Florida, who are about to make a trip across the country to make LA their new home base. Their music is addicting, and fits in multiple atmospheres. Their Facebook page describes their music as "Imagine if Apollo 13 made a successful lunar landing. Except this time, they had a disco ball. And electric guitars," which is not too far off from how they sound.

Bryce and Joe are lifelong friends from Lakeland Florida and it is apparent when talking to them. Clearly they know each other really well and it is what makes them a great duo behind the decks. The night would have been a disaster if it wasn't for the talent these to showed that night. Poor management, overcrowding, and a few rude workers did not stop us or anyone else from having a great night.

They opened up their set with the duo's newest song "Black Cat," which instantly set the mood for the rest of the time. Everyone from hula-hoopers to your average NYC YOPRO was raging in the Building. Their energy, with being jet-lagged, was out of control. They brought everyone together dancing in every way possible. I saw shufflers, grinders, and just some straight up weird dance moves that cannot be categorized during their set. The hour and a half flew by because we were all having so much fun. Once they got off the stage the final DJ continued their spirit and kept the night raging until the sun came up.

Here's our interview with the amazing Ashlyn, has been killing it on the interview front lately. Enjoy and check out our Facebook page to see the album of photos from that night to see if you made the cut.
