The time has come, ladies and gentlemen. Germany based music technology company Native Instruments is bringing out the next big thing in DJ technology, and that is the Traktor Kontrol S8. Feast your eyes on its majestic beauty and grace. The first thing you may have noticed about this controller is that is has no turntables. They have been replaced by high-resolution screens that show not only the waveforms of the song that's playing, but also the values of your effect and filter knobs. You can even browse through your music on the screens so you keep your focus on the controller and the crowd, and not your laptop.

Another unique feature of this particular controller is the live remix decks that are now embedded into the user interface. Those that are familiar with Traktor are aware of this function on the software, but with the S8 controller it is much more easily accessible. Check out the video demonstration of how the live remixing works:

This controller has a hefty but understandable $1,199.00 price tag, and is set to come out on October 30th. Do you think this will be the future of DJing? Have turntables become a thing of the past? Only time will tell.
