The first edition of this year's Electric Island happened this Monday, and boy did they start things off with a bang! For those of you who were attendance this Victoria Day weekend, I'm sure you all have some memories you won't forget, and some you won't remember! Despite early morning forecasts calling for chances of rain, thankfully the weather held up and stayed warm all afternoon. The day was filled with great music, great people, great weather and great times--the perfect recipe for success if ever there was one.
The first part of a four-part series had German DJ/Producer Sven Väth headlining a 3 hour set as the sun went down! As Papa Sven took over the decks wearing (my friends referred to him as Papa Sven because of the glasses he was wearing) it was absolute mayhem. His transitions were silky smooth and his command of the crowd was legendary. Some tracks he dropped included, Get Deep - Harry Romero, Planetary Assault Systems - Future Modular and, to close off the night, Epikur - David August.
It was a great start to the summer and it only make us more excited for the next rendition of Electric Island!
