Event Review: DJ Green Lantern & Branchez @ Webster Hall [1.31.14]

Walking in and seeing Webster Hall much emptier than usual was surprising, but it was the least of my worries. The VIP balcony had plenty of room for me to gallivant around with the option of hitting up the front row down below, no problem. The vicious sounds of Branchez permeated the Grand Ballroom upon arrival. I caught the tail end of his performance as he closed with his remix of Rhianna’s number one hit, Stay. The man of the hour, DJ Green Lantern started mixing along side him and started dropping some sick hip-hop beats including Bugatti including Dirt off your Shoulders. No need to jam the dance floor, these bassheads had plenty of room to shimmy around. Not only did his hip-hop beats pump through the speakers, but he got me with the Trap and Dubstep he threw down, as well. From Flux’s infamous I Can’t Stop to  Bassnectar Timestretch and his remix of Pharoahe Monch Simon Says! Did you read my Facebook status, DJ Green Lantern?! Spot on, buddy.
