Amidst the hype surrounding Epic 3.0 at Madison Square Garden next weekend, you might have missed an interesting move by the Pryda team: Eric Prydz will play a private party for the chapter that has the most members (and friends of members) buy tickets to his MSG show.
While this seems like an awesome opportunity for chapters at large universities, it doesn't seem very Pryda-esque; fans on Reddit and Prydz forums have expressed distaste for this marketing move, equating it to a move that management would make, and not Eric himself. Assuming that a chapter within a 50 mile radius of Manhattan manages to gets enough people to sign up, a logical concern is how much more planning should go into preparing a college party in a few days while 3.0 is right around the corner. Given 3.0 will be the most important show of Eric's career, we're curious if it's a smart move for Eric to play a party the night before, or if it's just a marketing move by management (or possibly a team completely unaffiliated with Pryda) to sell more tickets.
