DJ Snake’s had quite an eventful week. It started with the announcement of his signing to EDM booking powerhouse AM Only and subsequent US tour. Next came “Slow Down” with collaborators Yellow Claw and Spanker, a genre-bending composition that is part bubbly twerk theme with some b-boy flavor (that cowbell though...) and part lurching moombahton procession. This song is sure to pop up throughout sets of the Mad Decent roster (and probably Diplo’s Instagram) in the very near future. Check out "Slow Down" featured below in the preview for DJ Snake's upcoming appearance at TomorrowWorld 2013, and download it for free on Mad Decent's Soundcloud.
Then there’s the 2:17 "sneak preview" of the anthemic “Turn Down For What,” which is actually an update of the unreleased “Bang the Underground” from earlier this summer. It has all the makings of a hit song: Lil Jon lacing the track with his iconic yelling, a beefed up low end that fills out a sub quite nicely, and DJ Snake’s signature chopped vocal slurs. The idea is that it’s basically a trapped-out sequel to “Shots” and though the concept is incredibly simple, “Turn Down For What” is a guaranteed party starter. Stream Mad Decent’s preview of the song below and see for yourself.
