DJ Shadow Is Still Relevant: Stream The Amber Liquid EP

August 13, 2014 -

Louis Garcia

It's been nearly 18 years since Joshua Paul Davis, a.k.a. DJ Shadow, released his groundbreaking debut album Entroducing..... After all that time he is still able to crank out some mind-bending avant guarde beat music.

He grew in popularity in the late 90's from the rising electronic music culture. Back then even when everything electronic was considered underground, Shadow was flipping records and producing the kind of beats that you might hear at today's Low End Theory underground club. Four records and almost 2 decades later we've got some fresh new material.

The Amber Liquid EP has 2 new original tracks with a dark futuristic vibe going on throughout it. He is a master at glitching things out and psychedelically throwing samples around. Check this release out if you are a fan of experimental beat music such as Daedelus and Squarepusher.

Also checkout the last track on the album an amazing remix done by Machinedrum.
