DJ Mark Hoppus Takes Back Tuesday

Among those in attendance last night at the Echoplex were music lovers of all kinds. The crowd was fun, playful, full of energy, and also enjoyable to be around. Although I was only able to catch about the last 30 minutes or so of Mark Hoppus' DJ debut, I was able to witness the musical journey that he took us on. With Southern Comfort sponsoring the evening with drink specials, we embarked on a journey spanning from My Chemical Romance to Jimmy Eat World to Bloc Party, the night was something special. As Mark played with effects and filters at the right moments, the whole house was rocking. With expectations uncertain, to say the least before the night, Mark Hoppus provided a trip down memory lane and made us all feel that little something special. The crowd, and I, throughly enjoyed the night and it was good to see Mark dancing around and rocking out on stage during his mix, sweating and helping himself to a refreshment. At the end of the set, Mark spent some time with fans in the front row and signed an autograph or two. All in all the night was a success and I can only hope that Mark continues having fun DJing as much as we enjoyed it.     -  Bradley Callison
