Dido - White Flag (Collin McLouhglin Remix)

June 25, 2014 -

Chris Erickson

Every few years a vocal comes along that is truly unique, capable of evoking powerful emotion and channeling an undeniable catchiness that imprints the song into the hearts and minds of listeners across the world. In 2003 Dido's "White Flag," became such a song, as it provided a beautiful and ethereal honesty with a brilliant lyric that took the world by storm just over ten years ago.

Such a vocal often provides the basis for Collin McLoughlin's emotional reworks, and this one is no different. Re-singing the vocal with his own voice and supplementing the introspective melody with a driving, frenetic liquid drum 'n bass beat Mcloughlin's rendition of Dido's opus provides new life and energy into a vocal that, while perhaps slightly forgotten, still is just emotionally impactful today as it was in 2003.
