Flume - "More Than You Thought" (Orikami Remix)

By Christopher Lavinio on August 25, 2013
Just as you thought that the orchestral crunk-wave style from artists like Flume was just a phase, you instantly have DJs and producers alike looking for a new sense of inspiration. With the heavy and distorted downbeat, dreamy vocals, and dynamic synths, it has definitely become a sub-genre to look out for as we close out the fourth quarter of 2013. The chill electronic vibes this Sunday afternoon come from Georgia native Orikami, who produces an elegant remix of Flume's More Than You Thought. Enjoy another masterful chill production to wind down your weekend.

Complexion - The Future Beats Show 008

By Christopher Lavinio on August 25, 2013
London's own DJ/producer Complexion dropped his eighth edition of The Future Beats Podcast a few days ago, experimenting with spacey and dreamy bass, coupled with a bit of trap. This 90 minute podcast is most definitely that late night bathtub music for your romantic evening; and after an incredible Bondax remix, I figured this relaxing chill out music is something we could all enjoy. So kick back, enjoy the last few days of summer and enjoy some dreamy, spacey and relaxing bass.

Markus Schulz - Sunrise Set 2013 (GDJB)

By Hugh Lurcott on July 30, 2013
Markus Schulz has been smashing it of late, and you only need to look at his schedule to see how. On Friday he took over a Tomorrowland Stage for a full 12 hours of madness, yet we're only on Tuesday and since then he's played at Global Gathering Festival, Summer Sound Festival and at ASOT in Ibiza. This evening he plays another 4 hour set a Coldharbour. All the while he's updating his Global DJ Broadcast Show. Does this guy ever stop?!

Anna Paul - Nightcall (Kavinsky Cover)

By Christopher Lavinio on July 23, 2013
So this is just incredible isn't it? The amazing production of Courcelles, Belgium producer LUUUL and the stunning vocals of Anna Paul come together to create a masterful cover of Kavinsky's Nightcall. With high production standards set forth by the combination of Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo and mixed by electronic artist SebastiAn, the two were definitely faced with a difficult task. But, despite the high profile producers who worked on the original Kavinsky track back in 2011, Anna Paul & LUUUL were fearless in their deep, yet smooth remix of the tune. Forthcoming on Anna Paul's EP "Tomato Mozzarella" as a bonus track, we should all be looking forward to what's in store for the 'meat' of her EP. In the meantime, relax and enjoy!

Next - Wifey (Fwdslxsh Edit)

By Christopher Lavinio on July 16, 2013
It always seems like these unique ambient, atmospheric and bathtub tunes grab my attention when digging up gems on SoundCloud. With London's young producers at the forefront of this sub-genre, 19 year old Londoner fwdslxsh (Forward Slash) has masterfully remixed Next's signature tune, Wifey. With an absolutely emotional vocal line coupled with an airiness and brightness to the overall sound, fwdslxsh crafts this remix to give that perfect reverberation as a means of defining his unique sound. Please, as you do with every track, enjoy this one especially for the quality in fwdslxsh's production and his uniquely defining sound!
