Beats & Pieces - Vol. XXIII

June 26, 2016 -

Daily Beat Staff

Hello everyone and welcome back to the twenty-third edition of our weekly playlist, Beats & Pieces! Curating this week's playlist is Ariya Beitollahi who choose to focus on the realm of trance and progressive featuring tracks from the likes of Anjunabeats, ZeroThree and White Music Records. So without further adieu, here is this week's selection of trance and progressive tracks!

1. Kyau & Albert ft In Gray - Sleeping Lions

The year 2016 has marked a 20-year milestone for legendary trance producers Kyau & Albert, who have released a number of timeless tracks with Above & Beyond's Anjunabeats label as well as with their very own label Euphonic. There is no sign that these veteran trance masterminds have any plans of slowing down which can be seen in their high musical output. Just in the first half of 2016, Kyau & Albert released three tracks together including the lovely Bend Girl, an upbeat remix of Above & Beyond's Treasure which premiered on Anjunabeats Volume 12, and their latest single titled Sleeping Lions, which features a vocal performance from the talented singer In Gray.

2. Wrechiski - Diamond Eyes

Brazilian producer Wrechiski has been climbing the ranks lately with the release of trance anthems Atlas last year and Frontier this year, both released as collaborations on Anjunabeats with Above & Beyond's prodigy Jason Ross. Enter Wrechiski's pulsating Diamond Eyes for your weekly dose of progressive, released on ZeroThree.

3. Grum - Drifting Away

The last time he released a vocal track, Scottish producer Grum fused together elements from techno, 80's retro as well as old-school trance in his golden track Under Your Skin, featuring singer Rothchild on the vocals. Much to our liking, Grum has outdone himself again with his latest sun-splashed  track Drifting Away which was released on Anjunabeats last month.

4. The M Machine - When It's Gone (Mat Zo Remix)

2016 has been a big year for Anjunabeats' golden boy Mat Zo, who has reached his second album milestone with the release of Self Assemble on his own label Mad Zoo. This album features 12 tracks, each with its own healthy mix of progressive, trance 2.0, 80's retro, funk and trap elements. Even though he set the bar so high for himself with Self Assemble, we still found ourselves impressed with his vibrant remix of The M Machine's When It's Gone on White Records featuring uplifting melodies and unique textures that perfectly wrap around the track's original vocals.

5. Jason Ross feat. Lauren Ray - "Me Tonight"

Another rising star on Anjunabeats' is the young Jason Ross who has been making a number of appearances in Above & Beyond's live sets. Jason Ross has been on fire recently putting out stunning tracks such as his reinvigorating remix of Above & Beyond's classic Alone Tonight as well as his collaboration with Wrechiski that we mentioned earlier which is the trance anthem titled Frontier. Most recently Jason outdid himself with his first vocal track Me Tonight on Anjunabeats which features Lauren Ray's beautiful vocals.

That's a wrap for this week's edition of Beats & Pieces. If you've liked these tracks, follow the artists on SoundCloud and Facebook!
