With Dirtybird Campout 2021 on the horizon, the notorious tech-house label hits us with a massive compilation featuring Arnold & Lane as well as other DB favorites like Cour T., Ardalan, Dipzy, and Teknicoz.

‘Snooooo’ is the third track on the 2021 Campout Compilation. It’s riddled with chunky drums, funk stabs, and freaky sound design elements that are expected from an Arnold & Lane cut.

If you’re not yet familiar with their work, Arnold & Lane has recently been exploding onto the house scene with massive releases on Holy Molé, Space Yacht, and more recently Night Bass. They are a duo from Thousand Oaks that have gained a ton of attention by some of house music’s biggest DJs and labels.

It feels refreshing to hear something with a deep minimal vibe coming out from Arnold & Lane. Rather than hit us with a beefy 808 such as their explosive single with Sage Armstrong, we got something that is more hypnotic, stripped back, and progressive.

My favorite thing about ‘Snooooo’ is the undefinable key signature. The lead synth is a type of 303 inspired melody that doesn’t hit in a defined key signature. To add to the mysterious key, all of the samples selected fluctuate around different notes. The track is a collage of samples and synths. Its messy palette feels playful and full of life from start to finish.

Overall we were very impressed and it felt like a great way to hype up the insane weekend that is about to go down at the Modesto Reservoir.
