This month has been blissful for Blonde and Craig David. Their catchy new single, "Nothing Like This," is a proven hit: it currently sits at No. 15 on the official UK Top 40 Singles chart, while nabbing the No. 1 spot on the Shazam UK Dance chart. Its house-influenced, radio-ready hook melts incredibly well with David's rhythmic vocals. Bright, melodic, and as equally appropriate on the dance floor as it is on popular radio, the track thrives in a similar vein to Disclosure's "Omen" or Claptone's remix of "Liquid Spirit." The music video, just released, adds to the song's radiance.
The video for "Nothing Like This" appears as endearing as the track itself sounds. It's stylized in simplistic form, with David charismatically performing in front of Jacob Manson and Adam Englefield. The British duo showcase a new live set-up, playing drums and keys on either side of the singer in an abstract club environment.
The track came to be when Blonde invited Craig David to collaborate last year. The duo were long-time fans of the UK-garage legend; as it turned out, David was also a fan of Blonde. "Nothing Like This" was born out of numerous ideas sent back-and-forth between London and Miami. Manson and Englefield are currently working on their upcoming debut album, which is sure to bring a great deal of surprises and special collaborations.
