During the past week, Zhu has made a reappearance in the spotlight with his “THE BLACKLIZT” project and his newest single “Nightcrawler.” Being mysterious as always, Zhu announced this new project through a vague, one-minute Instagram clip which appeared to be calling out the more “mainstream” producers such as The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, and Zedd, as they’re lifted into their grave in a funeral scene.
Following this ballsy, yet applaudable move, Zhu has just dropped the eargasmic single “Nightcrawler.” Zhu’s signature deep house sound resides in the track, but this song takes a more ominous route than many of the songs on his latest album “GenerationWhy.” Even the vocals are eerie, as the singer tells of a menacing shadow hiding in the night, avoiding capture.

I, for one, love the darker side of dance music and hope to see many new Zhu tracks like “Nightcrawler” in the near future. For those lucky enough to make it to the musical Mecca that is Ultra Miami Music Festival, you can catch Zhu next Friday the 24th at the Live Stage from 9:30 pm to 10:30. You can bet that I will be watching the live-stream of his Ultra set and experiencing major FOMO, since, I will unfortunately not be attending this year.
