For those of you who were lucky enough to attend Lightning in a Bottle (LIB), The Do LaB’s premier campout music festival this past Memorial Day weekend. You probably spent some time at the Woogie stage and you already know what we’re talking about, WOOGIE WEEKEND BABY! If you missed out on LIB and cant stand to hear your friends talking about it anymore (I’m that friend), July 17-19, 2015 at Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, CA is your chance for redemption and a small taste of what you’d be experiencing at LIB next year. This is a round two for the Woogie, dedicated to recreating the feel good energy, vibes and appreciation for all types of house music that was encapsulated at the Woogie.
Boasting a more Traditional roster ranging from, Tech & Acid, Deep & Disco, after hours is going ALL hours, no matter how you like your house, you’re guaranteed to hear the grooviest beats. With two stages and over 30 word class artists, including Moon Boots, J. Phlip, Henry Saiz, Francesca Lombardo, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Adam Freeland, Pig&Dan, Nick Warren, and many more. Also, Sunday will feature a special takeover by Robot Heart veteran, Lee Burridge and his All Day I Dream artist collective.
The video below, a recap from the LIB’s Woogie stage, teases your ears with Woogie Weekend performers French Express’ Jonas Rathsman and Gigamesh, while successfully giving you a tiny glimpse of the Fun Loving, kind and Creative energy that The Do LaB successfully cultivated in Bradley, Ca.
Everyone loves the Woogie so much, it made perfect sense to create a whole new event around it. We're excited to work on something with a more narrow focus and master the Woogie vibes
Says Do LaB co-founder, Jesse Flemming. LIB’s Woogie stage originated as the Woogaloogie, the main stage structure at 2006’s rendition of LIB. An early design of fellow Do Lab co-founder, Josh Flemming, it eventually became a smaller stage dedicated to house music and gained the nickname “The Woogie”.
Professional sound for Woogie Weekend will be provided by Meyer Sound and Funktion-One systems, and fans will experience the vibrant, technicolor world of stage production The Do Lab is known for, including the tree house Woogie stage from LIB and a new stage designed just for Woogie Weekend. In addition, the festival will have live painters, healthy food stalls, morning yoga sessions, and over 30 merch vendors.
Returning to Lightning in a Bottle’s 2010-2012 venue, Woogie Weekend is conveniently located in Orange County, between Los Angeles and San Diego at Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, CA.
Tickets for Full Weekend, Boutique Camping, and All Access passes can be purchased here and start out at $135 for Full Weekend Passes.
