As you all know, the Daily Beat team hit up Dirty Bird Campout a few weeks ago and we all agreed it was one of our favorite festivals of the year. Whether it be walking around enjoying the amazing production that The Do Lab had to offer or watching a puppet drop an insane live set, it was a weekend that will be remembered by everyone who took part in it. But don't just take our word for it, check out our interview with fellow Dirty Bird Will Clarke to see what he thought of the festival and what plans he has for the future below!

DB: What are your thoughts on the first Dirtybird Campout? What did you enjoy most about the festival and what do you think could have been done better?

Will Clarke: The campout was next level it exceed all expectations of what I thought it was going to be like. The thing I liked the most about the festival was that it was one big family playing music to all of heir friends and everyone just vibing having fun and not one single bit of arrogance in the camp at all. Things to improve for next year that’s a real tough question but it would be nice to see a couple of electronic dance music bands maybe.

DB: Everyone at the campout could be seen getting silly non-stop the whole weekend. What would you say was the funniest moment for of the weekend?

Will Clarke: Well I didn’t see this in person but heard about it and it has to be Claude VonStroke doing yoga… just sit back and think about that one for a bit.

DB: You have already made an impressive run across the club scene playing in party kingdoms like Ibiza. Where do you plan on taking your career from here on out?

Will Clarke: Yeah your right I've been super lucky so big ups to everyone that has booked me. For rest of this year I'm in America till mid Novemeber then back in UK and Europe. Then its 2016… Jeez that’s came around quick. We have some fun things planned already for next year cant announce too many things but one thing that I can say and that’s HOLYSHIP….

DB: How is your label Cut A Rug thriving and what can we expect to see from it in the future?

Will Clarke: Quite a few people have been asking me about this and it always makes me laugh. So Cut A Rug was just a night that myself and a goof friend of mine from Bristol set up as we wanted to throw our own parties. We through like 5/6 parties and released one track that’s about it haha. It was just something we did as fun and isn’t anything I will be pursuing in the future. We have been in talks about doing a couple of free parties next year but nothing serious.

DB: How do you stay on top of your production game when you spend so much time on tour? Do you like working on the road or do you prefer working in the studio? Why?

Will Clarke: Id like to say I like working on the road but my laptop is on its last legs so when I get round to getting a new one then il like working on the road again ☺. Although I like to hunt down studios when I'm in different cities so I always make sure I get time in the studio. When I do long tours I always make sure I have at least 2/3 days downtime in the studio, I find it relaxing plus I get stressed if I haven’t made music for a while ask my manager he will vouch for that.

DB: What has been your favorite show of the year so far and why?

Will Clarke: Apart from the campout which was pretty unreal I think it was the show at Revolver in Melbourne with Kill Frenzy. It was a day party on a Sunday we’d both not slept from the night before in Brisbane due to traveling and flights being cancelled, my set was at 1pm, if I'm truly honest I was not in the mood to dj however the show had to go on. Got to the club and it was going off, we ended up playing for 6 hours literally people were climbing on the ceiling and hanging off the lampshades.

DB: Who are some upcoming artists who have caught your ear lately that you believe deserve more attention?

Will Clarke: I really like the new track on Dirtybird from Lopezhouse, One of my mates goes under a name called ItsJsh he is actually unsigned at the moment but is writing some serious crazy shit right now.

DB: Any kind of news you wanted to share with us?

Will Clarke: Hmm well I have a new EP coming out on Dirtybird on the 6th November called the ‘Turn It Up E.P’. Also I'm half way through an America tour check out my Facebook / Instagram / Twitter to find out where I am next.
