Mt. Sierra gives his all on “When You Hold It Down,” releasing on Dec. 10th and marking the next pillar on what has been a waterfall rollout of Mt. Sierra EP. The single - like many of the works from EP - embody aspects of deep, tech, and progressive house, Mt. Sierra breeding these elements to make some all-new and something that showcases his signature style. Compared to the previous singles, there’s a major-chord, peppier zing to this track, a bit more technicality put on display that adds to the fast pace nature that is afoot here.
“‘When You Hold It Down’ is another song I made mid-pandemic last year as I was wrapping up my time at Icon. It originally started as a homework project for my piano class, and evolved once I found the vocal i centered the track around”.
I was feeling pretty clever, and appreciative of some of the people in my life at the time, so I worked my magic, and changed some sounds around, messed with the vocal phrasing, and ‘When You Hold It Down’ is the finished product.”
Founding his own label, SME Records, and releasing his music on it, Mt. Sierra is a self made man in many ways. He’s a solo artist, put himself through the challenge of completing curriculum at Icon Collective, and is an eager dude when it comes to learning about what works in the ever-evolving realm of the music industry to help generate a greater impact to reach fans who will embrace what he’s making.
“When You Hold It Down,” is his 4th release under this moniker and the 4th release of the Mt. Sierra EP.
