Webster Hall is back in business in a big way! This weekend Daily Beat took over the venue joining the OG Alex English on his opening set as support for Diablo and Dillon Frances. The Girls and Boys legend is back gracing the Webster Hall main stage, and that wasn’t all. In a beautiful display of old times sake, he pulled up another previous Webster Hall resident Dali, which was captured in these photos.
These gentleman were the heart of Webster Hall for the better part of the last decade and it was such a treat to see them back doing what they do best, playing music that will inspire the rest of NYC and set a vibe and tone for things to come while giving such a lovely nod to past that brought them up in the first place.
And only Webster Hall can create quite this feeling. Known as the best club in the world, we suspect that title will remain. Club nights will begin again this fall, and we cannot wait.
What is new at Webster Hall? First, walking in the new front doors was a treat and noticing the old Marlin room is now just a bar without a stage which will help break up the congestion upstairs. Another significant change is that the old side sports bar is no longer and has been replaced with stairs leading up to the main room and sleek new bathrooms. We heard whispers that the lower level of the venue will be made available next year but for now, is being used as storage.
The grand ballroom is everything we remember Webster for and more. The lights were extraordinary and the sound, immaculate. Oh yeah, they have a brand new air conditioning system too to keep attendees fresh while dancing the night away. In so many ways the old Webster vibe was not lost.
We can’t wait to be there again for Troyboi next week get your tickets here!
