Watermelon Future Motown Sound On Mark Johns' 5 South

March 10, 2015 -

Louis Garcia

Singer/songwriter Mark Johns dropped a vibrant new track entitled 5 South earlier this week in a future funk style. We definitely hear a deep house/pop influence in the manner of Disclosure but this track is far more developed with a less quantized rhythm along the lines of jazz & Motown music. Not to mention the wet synth brass chords that perfectly accompany the real trumpet blasts. Alexander Lewis really pulls through with a solid instrumental on this piece that presents Mark Johns with an addictingly catchy track. Give it a listen below and let us know what you think!
