Long-time fans of UZ's "Trap Shit" expressed their bittersweet goodbyes last July, when the series met its end. The 25-volume array of mixed-and-mangled bass cocktails was a treasure trove for trap lovers since its initiation in 2012. Lauded as a trendsetter in the newest sub-genre of electronic music at the time, UZ's affinity for unusual samples and machine gun snares made up the crest of a rising wave - one that also included then-rising stars Baauer, Flosstradamus, and RL Grime.
Cementing his status as an innovator within bass music, UZ promises a fulfilling new chapter with his launch of Quality Goods Records. The label will deliver a diverse discography from a curated selection of tastemakers. Drawing from all styles of the genre, with trap influences at its core, Quality Goods Records is on our watch.
“Over the past few years I have traveled the world countless times, and throughout my journeys I have been influenced by a wide array of producers and new sounds,” UZ tells Billboard. “I have always felt that there has been a needed staple within the community that allows artists to work freely within the confines of their own creativity. That is why I have decided to create Quality Goods Records.”
