Tritonal Brings The Metamorphic Tour to Philadelphia

This past Friday we swung by Philadelphia's notable club Rumor to enjoy another evening out with good people and good music. Not only is this nightclub always a solid place to go for a night out on the town, it also was the host of the second stop of The Metamorphic Tour. This event was surely set to be one for the books, as one of my favorite spots in Philly was bringing one of my favorite producer duos to the decks: Tritonal. An avid Tritonian, I for one was incredibly excited to document a night like this firsthand. Passes, check. Camera, check. Will to party hard, check. Off to Rumor we went.

As the crowd began to fill in we started our night off in Rumor's "Lev Room", hosted by resident DJ Elvis Suarez. Talk about a solid start to the evening. A more intimate room, The Lev allowed for easy access to the bar, matched with a quality sound system that pumped out today's freshest Top 40 singles and electronic remixes. It was satisfying to see an auxiliary room filled to capacity & holding it down for all the clubbers that weren't at Rumor for the Metamorphic show. Time in the booth was entertaining as it could get, with Suarez going all in on vinyl-timecoded turntables, scratching away like a true mix-master between new hits such as Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" & Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" to electronic/hip-hop mashups like "Ni**as in Paris vs. Rattle" by Jay-ZKanye West, & Bingo Players.

On to the main room. Tritonal's show in Philly hosted an opening set by Rumor's own Giuliano Presta, and what a set it was. Starting off with a solid amount of tech house to get the floor going, Presta soon showed this crowd that he was no stranger to the decks, bringing on club bangers like "Ohh Shhh" by Chris Lake, "Touched" by EDXTujamo's remix of Ralph Good's "SOS", and a notable original mix with Steven Fokas: "Midnight" (be sure to check this track out, it's fire!) It was thoroughly entertaining to watch this local rising star truly prepare an already hyped up crowd for the night's coming festivities.

Enter Tritonal. I don't think I've ever been so amped up for a show. I know that I've been to my fair share, and each time I seem to be elevated just a little bit more. But nothing came close to this. Between the intimacy of Rumor as a club, the vibe of the crowd that was there, and the energy that Chad Cisneros & Dave Reed brought to the decks, I believe it was safe to say that this was one of the most electrifying evenings of my young life. Following a flawless transition from Presta's opening set, the duo set off with a chiller tech track, only to filter it completely out to begin a two hour marathon of madness & euphoria (think the two can't be infused? Think again). Mixing between vocal mashups that everyone in the crowd was belting out proved to me that these two had a full understanding of how to keep a room jam-packed with people, yet keep them all moving to the beat with a sense of belonging. Mixed in nicely were a selection of Tritonal's own original mixes and remixes as well, keeping the energy level high as can be with their uplifting progressive trance melodies clashed with their big-room and progressive house rolling drops.

If you weren't at this show, I strongly recommend that you catch these two the next time they're in town. Shoot me a message, I'll go with you! Attached are two of Tritonal's festival sets to help you get a basic understanding of how they can cater to thousands of eager ears, yet you have to see them for yourself in a club setting to truly appreciate their non-stop energy and passion as they spin for any number of fans. It's safe to say that Tritonal produces & DJs for the #1 reason there is: the love of the music. I have never seen anyone so thoroughly enjoy every second of their time in the booth. It is a truly awesome thing to watch, and I for one cannot wait for the next show! Until next time!
