You probably have heard of the future/deep house project Going Deeper, but it's likely you might not be familiar with the young powerhouse Timur Shafiev behind half of it. Tim Shaft is a current resident of the renowned Dutch label Big & Dirty and just signed a worldwide publishing deal with Strengholt, one of the most powerful publishers in the indie scene today. Both Ferry Corsten and Showtek call Strengholt home, and if both of their success' is any indication, Tim Shaft can expect a taste of the same and has some very big things heading his way. Shaft's latest release definitely has what it takes to take him to the next level and comes in perfectly in time for the Halloween weekend. Take a erie listen below and get your funk on with "Funkenstein".
Self proclaimed as "progressive aggressive”, Tim Shaft has an ear for creating tracks that are not only heavy in bass lines, but ample in dancefloor-friendly vibes, providing a combination that will undoubtedly be a huge factor in his success. Shaft’s seamless and crispy clean progressive-electro sound is reminiscent of Wolfgang Gartner in his "Redline” days, laced in with the heavier drops of modern dance music reminding us of Sander van Doorn. Catching the attention of nearly every major dance music titan in the scene today; Shaft’s single "Unstoppable” was featured as "Demo of the Week” on Hardwell’s On Air, and Martin Garrix played it on his own radio show soon after. This Russian prodigy’s newest release is "Funkenstein”, an appropriately named progressive banger that incorporates all the booty-popping beats we love while carrying a groovy and funky melody. Shaft’s mission is to compete with the best in the electronic dance music scene, and so far he is well on his way.
