Jam of the summer alert. Thundercat’s latest single comes with the release of his second LP Apocalypse. Admittedly, this song came out a month ago but it’s too good not to share. The incredible jazz-infused electro-funk production of “Oh Sheit It’s X” comes from Brainfeeder label head and record producer/rapper/DJ extraordinaire Flying Lotus, but Thundercat’s bubbling bass riff and strung out falsetto end up stealing the show on pure musical skill alone. The lone party track on a melancholy album, this song aims straight for the clubs with Thundercat's dopey lyrics that spin a delightfully euphoric tale of an Ecstasy-filled night out partying ‘til the morning.
