"This Ain't Bristol" And "Perfect Driver Music" Rooftop Party Was a Dream

To be quite frank, I wouldn't have seen this party coming to Miami Music Week, but it did and it was GREAT. RVDIOVCTIVE, in addition to LA-based record label Perfect Driver Music and Hannover-bred label This Ain't Bristol, put together a lowkey gig atop of the elegant Dream Hotel in South Beach with some of the best up-and-comers in the game.

Label-mates Landis LaPace, Sage Armstrong, Mark Starr, Billy Kenny, No Regular Play, Maximono, Sonny Fodera, J Paul Getto, Jey Kurmis, Golf Clap, Matthew Anthony and several others played on the roof from early afternoon until sundown. It started out slow, but eventually people started to trickle in enough to fill the rooftop.

A few stand-out sets, I would have to say, were easily from Sage Armstrong and Landis LaPace. Orlando-based, Dirtybird member Sage Armstrong went in the entire time with grace and style. Although he was in and out of a b2b set with Mark Starr, he played to his strengths and kept a stamina going throughout the late afternoon. Might I add that he is also one of the nicest dudes that I have come across. Anyone who came up to him was met with a smile and embrace.

Lutz, Florida native Landis LaPace never fails to impress me. I still can't believe at just 18 years, this kid has the skill and taste of someone who's been in the game for years. Landis has had releases/affiliations with Night Bass, Dirtybird, Perfect Driver Music, This Ain't Bristol, Main Course and Audiophile XXL. Who know's what he will be getting into next.

As the day grew later, the party grew larger. For these two boutique labels, this was such a well put together event. The music was tasteful and truly fit the Miami groove that people are looking for when they come down for this notorious music week. Like any venue/hotel/restaurant in South Beach, usually the lines are crazy, the prices are insane and the people are a pretty rowdy. This was NOT the case here. Nothing but good vibes the entire time.

Although I jumped around from party to party, I had some of the most fun here, hands down. Every time I returned, things just got better and better. Shout-out RVDIOVCTIVE for throwing such a killer event and be sure to check it out next time you're in Miami!
