The Exchange 001

January 15, 2014 -

We are happy to announce a brand new partnership with up and coming YouTube channel The Exchange, where music meets. Each week, we will countdown our five favorite tunes from the channel, graze the surface of the artists and the style of the tunes. We'll try to keep the themes pretty consistent every week and bring you premium music content. With that being said, let's begin the countdown. Enjoy!

5. Ed Sheeran - I See Fire (Kygo Remix)

After having an Ed Sheeran type of day, I had to start the countdown with Kygo's remix of I See Fire. The 22 year old Norwegian producer adds the smooth chilled out trap meets house style using the vocals and acoustic from original flawlessly.

4. Flume - Sleepless (Manila Killa Remix)

Manila Killa is no stranger to the Daily Beat and neither is his remix of Flume's Sleepless. The DC resident gives it a little more kick than the original, while preserving the original's integrity, which is very hard to do in a remix. Overall a fantastic, fresh sounding track that really deserves a listen.

3. Bondax - Gold (Snakehips Remix)

After what I think has been one of the most powerful and soothing chill songs of 2013 with On & On, Snakehips has truly impressed me time in and time out with that signature sound. And I am once again impressed with a difficult tune to remix, Bondax's hit Gold.

2. Nas - Made You Look (Odjbox Remix)

This next tune from Odjbox is probably one of the most unique out of the five I selected this evening. The uplifting electro-swing vibes of UK producer and the jazzy, hip-hop jam “Made You Look” featuring Nas definitely reflects the smokey, lounge vibes of the 40′s and 50′s.

1. JMSN - The One (Stwo Remix)

Closing out this week's Exchange with Stwo, the masterpiece producer from Paris, France who continues to build his reputation among the production-elite. The final tune for the night comes to us in the form of Stwo's remix of JMSN's The One, taking a once chilling atmosphere and replacing with percussion beats and some subtle synths that take you away.
