"The only guys who wear Hawaiian shirts are gay guys and big fat party animals" - Homer Simpson
Nowadays, you can't walk down a college campus without spotting someone wearing a Hawaiian shirt. From Frat Guys to Hipsters, Hawaiian shirts are making quite a comeback. What was once humiliating to wear is now a big craze. I still remember when I was in middle school and kids made fun of me for wearing my green parrot Hawaiian shirt. After being made fun of so much, I promised myself that I would never wear a Hawaiian shirt again. As I grew older, I stopped caring about what people thought and I wore what I wanted. From then on I created my own sense of style and poise.

There has been a great stigma placed against Hawaiian shirts for some reason, and that I don't quite really understand. However I do agree that some Hawaiian shirts are just hideous and not everyone can pull it off. Over the years I grew to love Hawaiian Shirts. I am always constantly looking for Hawaiian shirts at thrift shops and almost everywhere I go. You don't have to be a tourist or from Hawaii to wear a Hawaiian shirt, but what you do need is to to have the confidence or "swag" to pull one off.
