Swans - "A Little God in My Hands"

March 26, 2014 -

Dominick Knowles

Swans have revealed the first single from their next behemoth LP To Be Kind. The track's called "A Little God in My Hands," and--unlike their last offering, 2012's The Seer--it grooves. Rumors have been confirmed that Annie Clark (St. Vincent) features heavily on the record, and one can't help but feel her influence here. The rhythm section loops and lurches under Michael Gira's trademark exorcism-inducing screams. Though it would seem the band has shifted its focus away from the dungeons of hellish fuzz that have characterized their last few LPs, Swans seem comfortable in their new armor.
