Based in Orange Country, California, Mathew Phillips, a.k.a. Matphilly, is making his impact on the SoCal EDM scene with his striking beats and mosh-worthy drops.

The first track, I Am Tired of Being a Local Celebrity, is a dubstep monster that bridges the gap between EDM and hardcore music. Matphilly is able to sample a vocal piece from a hardcore track and weave it perfectly into this bass driven track giving it a unique style of energy that can only be done from the fusing of genres.

EDM producers sometimes fail to give their audience variety in their music. This isn't a problem for Mat because in this four track EP we get a taste of hip hop, moombahton, trap, drumstep, and other tasty genres. If you're looking for some heavy tunes along the lines of Kill The Noise and Knife Party grab your copy of A New Version of Me on Beatport today!

Matphilly is also the founder of All The Hype Records with releases from tons of underground producers throughout Southern California. If you're curious what the hype is about take a look at their collection now!
