You've seen talent competitions before: dancing, singing, and talent in general. However, nothing quite like this. With electronic music invading mainstream ears, popping into radio stations all over the world, with electronic music now at it's peak, a DJ competition only seems fitting.
Your Shot is the newest competition where Tiësto and 7Up have teamed up to give aspiring bedroom DJ's across the United States a chance to make their dream a reality. Your Shot began in 2010 when young Australian, Steve Pillemer, recognized that there were thousands of aspiring DJ’s and dance music lovers across Australia, desperate to live out their dreams and swap the bedroom for the main stage. Since its launch six years ago in Australia, Your Shot has helped nurture and transform the lives of thousands of aspiring DJs, as well as bring new life to the Australian dance music scene. Contest entries in Australia consistently exceed those of televised reality competition shows, including Australian Idol and X-Factor, in number of entries.
The first two episodes have been released and here is what you can expect:
Episode 1: This Is YOUR SHOT! - http://vevo.ly/THUwdu
Tiësto is bringing Your Shot to the United States for the very first time. Thousands of DJ hopefuls have registered for the chance to learn how to DJ from the best in the business and play massive parties in Los Angeles and Vegas. But only one will be chosen to open for Tiësto at Hakkasan nightclub in Las Vegas and fly to Miami to play Stage 7 at Ultra Music Festival. This isn’t going to be easy for the contestants (or the judges), but the journey for each DJ hopeful is unforgettable.
Episode 2: Your Shot Selection: From Thousands to Thirty - http://vevo.ly/PLbjN0
Tune in each Monday as new episodes showcase DJ training, a DJ skills showcase and mentorship from Tiësto leading up to the final reveal of the Your Shot USA winner. Along the way there will be plenty of tension and emotion as the contestants vie for the big prize.
