This year Billboard hosts its 10th annual Touring Conference and Awards. As part of the conference, on November 14th they will host a case study called "Golden Road: Lessons Learned From The Dead" featuring guitarist, Warren Haynes and DJ/producer, Skrillex. Warren, playing a huge part in the later days of the Grateful Dead who conquered the 70's with their unique style, along with Skrillex, one of today's top EDM producers, will form the perfect duo to discuss then-and-now touring styles. They will discuss ways in which the Grateful Dead impacted today's way of touring including ticketing, communication between artist and fans, live recording of shows, creating an experience at each show, and so much more. These tactics have evolved but are still widely used in the music community, especially in the electronic music scene, where Sonny comes in. The six-time Grammy winner has experience from his early days in "From First to Last" to now being a worldwide icon. They will be joined by a panel of experts including Paradigm agent Jonathan Levine, Another Planet Entertainment president, Gregg Perloff, and former Grateful Dead manager Rock Scully. Make sure to stay tuned for further details. This is something all deadheads and ravers can learn from!
