Festival season may have just started, but that doesn't mean its too early to feel a little homesick. Each artist on the Homesick Remix EP knows exactly how you feel, and provide their own remedy in this latest offering by sibling duo SANiTY and Kritty. Featuring a combination of underground and more well-known talent, the EP is a multi-genre effort that showcases each producer's respective talents.
The opening remix by NYC-based Fight Clvb is a high-energy dutch-house reimagining of Homesick. Easily the most prominent duo on the EP, Fight Clvb (Wall Recordings,Dim Mak, Revealed Recordings) successfully transform the somber melodies of the original. Other artists on the EP include Kapo, Ehallz, and Dope Tendencies (Buygore Records), who all provide their own unique flavor to the track. A personal favorite is Ehallz's DnB remix. The LA native puts together the pop vocals with a Netsky-esque sound. By sticking to their own styles, each artist provides a fresh take; at no point does the EP get repetitive. The Dope Tencencies remix adds a bit of future flavor, while Kapo's big room showing gives the track mainstage appeal. The album concludes with the original electronic and acoustic version by Kritty, which focus on the merits of the original vocals and melody.
