It’s not always big budgets and huge sets that can make a music video great, the trend often nowadays and – what it looks like the future will be as well – is all about down-to-earth, relatable videos that are filmed with modern day smartphone cameras.

Richard Orofino is capturing a cinematic spirit that touches on this relatability aspect all the way, not just fitting within the trend but taking a step past it. It’s hard to put into words exactly why his video, “Superstar,” here fills the listener with joy and pleasure – but it just does. Orofino’s smiling face and goofing off supported by a chilled alt/indie pop sound both makes the soul happy and makes you want to learn more about him.

From the instrumentation to the lyrics, arrangement, songwriting, and timbre of the vocals, “superstar,” is an on-point jam that clearly was well-crafted and no part of it’s being left to chance or happenstance. Overall, Richard Orofino makes having a music career look easy and fun – which is the way it should be.
