Songstress and vocalist, Rei is originally from Taiwan, which gives her a lot of nuanced insight to writing and performing songs. Here's a bit of what she had to say about the track, "It's a song about unity, bringing people together no matter their differences. I thought that expressing that idea of jazz music's universality in a jazz tune would be fun. After all, jazz is truly a global phenomenon. It has roots in African, European, dance music, the blues, Gospel music, and over the years, has been influenced by Latin American, Afro-Cuban, Middle Eastern, Indian, Asian, and other forms of music. It's the United Nations of music!"
Her debut album will feature various musical genre influences in addition to jazz; there arenods to country and Latin styles, each woven together with a pop twist. She has signed onmusical heavyweights for this project, including music arranger Henry Banveri, and theGrammy-Award-winning audio engineer James Hoover, who has worked with Beyonce ZZ Top,Chamillionaire, and many more. She also co-wrote songs with Leosmany Castillo, a finalist on LaVoz ("The Voice Latin").
