The track is a magnificent mix of vintage synth textures and a massive modern production handled by none other than Scott Solter (St.Vincent, Spoon). Every element of the composition, from the percussion to the synths, to the vocal itself has been blessed with a retro futurism quality that is sure to leave even the most discerning of listeners in a state of nostalgic bliss.

Korkidis’ attributes his sound to the menagerie of musical influences bestowed to him by his stepparents. They would play him everything from Debussy to Genesis and everything in between, which lead the artist to cut his teeth playing Jazz, then classical and later indie rock. With “Comeback Kit” Korkidis gracefully makes the transition into full on experimental-pop, and it’s clear to see his musical pedigree has paid off in spades.

They say that first impressions count double, and if that’s the case then I’m double plus excited for the rest of his forthcoming EP destroyer which will drop this summer. Slowall is clearly one to watch in 2019.
