With just over three weeks to go before Porter Robinson releases his debut album, "Worlds," one can be sure to find dime-a-dozen editions of his new singles, "Sad Machine," "Sea Of Voices," and "Lionhearted." There remain few remixes of his early work besides the official remixes on the Spitfire EP (notorious for crashing Beatport's servers upon its release), so it's cool to see up and coming producers throwing it back a couple years and updating anthems from 2011 to fit 2014's demands.
NGHTMRE and Davey Gray tackle Porter's iconic track "The Seconds," flipping the complextro/electro stylings of the original into a melodic trap banger. If you're familiar with NGHTMRE, it's most probably because of his collaborative effort with Slander on the remix of Showtek's "We Like To Party," which has been rinsed by everyone from Carnage to Bassjackers to Showtek themselves. NGHTMRE's new collaboration with Davey Gray is more restrained, but still packs a hell of a punch, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear this at a festival soon.
